I’m Pyitu, a British Singaporean artist based in Bristol, United Kingdom.

My work blends emotion-driven storytelling with my love for character design, fashion, futuristic aesthetics and worldbuilding. I take a lot of inspiration from anime, digital culture, games and my own experiences, using stylised illustrations to explore things like identity, nostalgia, vulnerability and transformation.

I studied Graphic Design, Illustration and Game Art & Design at university, which gave me a strong foundation in both the creative and technical sides of making artwork. My background in design has heavily influenced the way I approach composition, colour, character design and visual storytelling, while game art taught me to think about characters as part of a much bigger world.

I love creating characters that feel like they have a life beyond the image. A lot of my work takes place in atmospheric, dreamlike or liminal environments, where cute and playful elements can sit alongside something a little more emotional underneath. I like leaving little hints for the viewer to imagine what might have happened before or what could happen next.

I’m especially drawn to clothing, accessories, hairstyles and all the little details that make a character feel like a real person. My work often moves between fantasy and sci-fi, mixing things like swords, animals with technology, machines and futuristic settings.

A lot of my ideas come from personal symbolism and the things I naturally find myself fascinated by. Some of these ideas have grown beyond individual illustrations into original characters, Vtuber identities and other creative projects.

At the heart of it, I just love creating little worlds and characters that people can connect with. I want my work to feel cute and inviting at first, but hopefully leave you with something a little deeper to think about.
